Date: 2004-07-08 09:04 am (UTC)One thing that's been particularly on my mind since Tuesday (I assume I can comment again if there's something else on my mind tomorrow?) is how wonderfully you've matched up the back story with the original drabble series. After reading Torrential I went straight on into Dom acts on his crush and honestly I expected there to be a lot of dissonance there. I know that sounds negative, but what I mean is that from my own faulty memory (it's been awhile, after all) I remembered Billy as being more angry and cold, whereas all this backstory has made him seem as torn and desperate as Dom, almost. So I thought that when I reread I wouldn't see it, but guess what? (I know you already know, ha ha) it was there all along! As I was reading along I was thinking how wonderfully you filled it in, how perfectly it fit. I'm doubly impressed and terribly grateful to y'all for sharing. Keep it up. Long live
I also appreciate the fact that Elijah and Cate are well written and interesting rather than just throwaway additions to add peril or drama. I truly want to know what's going to happen with both of them, and that's saying something when you know what a Monaboyd fan I am.
Thank you to all. It's great to be able to comment and say it again! Now stop reading and start tigging!

Lovely.

Date: 2004-07-08 09:27 am (UTC)s. I have just adored this series forEVAH it seems like. I think all of you have done an incredible job of writing four very different characters. I absolutely adore the spark, flash and romance between Dom and Billy. Just gorgeous. I have also enjoyed just as avidly the characters of Professor Cate and Student Elijah. You could chose to write them as villians but instead I think of them as just being totally self-absorbed.Now just one question: Recently our Dom and Billy writers have been going back in time prior to Dom finally making a pass at Billy. I can't help but wonder if you all regret how that episode was written. Its fascinating to read the backstory but also a bit, uhmmm disconcerting when you know how Dom is going to come on to Billy ulitmately. Ahh, but its your baby so you can go back and forth through time as you wish. Whatever, JUST KEEP DOING IT!

Date: 2004-07-08 01:10 pm (UTC)I've also been enjoying your recent foray into the backstory of Dom and Billy's relationship, and the way Dom ultimately makes his intentions clear to Billy actually make much more sense now, as well as how Billy reacts, when read after the 'build-up' threads... their increasing desperation and frustration (and is it weird that all through the 'Torrential' thread, all I keep thinking is 'go on, *do* something!!', even though I know nothing is really supposed to happen then... god, I'm an addict!!)
When are you guys gonna write the initial break-up thread then? Because I think that's going to break a few hearts and require much chocolate to read! I reckon you'll do it well though, so I look forward to seeing where you take all these delicious ideas and threads.

Date: 2004-07-08 01:25 pm (UTC)Excellent writing and characterization all around. I am madly in love with Professor Boyd, too bad for me. ::laughs:: Today's email post between him and Dom when he said he'd like to read the lines of muscle in Dom's forearm... Well, I almost died. Beautiful!
I don't have any questions for now but you'll hear from me again soon with more love and praises! (Except one small thing - are you planning to continue Acquiescence soon? 'Cause that thread is, uh, thebestthingever. ::quits begging:: ::blushes:: Thanks!)

Thank you all so much for this. If ever I'm fired from my job, it'll be because I spend too much time riffling through to see if there have been any updates to the open tigs.

Date: 2004-07-08 06:39 pm (UTC)Oh, this is nice. Thank you.
I'm hooked. I've been following along for a long time, and just want to say thank you for so many hours of lovely reading and rereading, distraction when I need it, tears, giggles, goggles, and hot loving.
May you continue to enjoy your creation of it as much as I have :)

Date: 2004-07-08 10:39 pm (UTC)last fall, when i caught a passing mention of student/prof au tigs, and searched for them, i had no idea that i was to be drawn into the lives of such lovely, wonderful, imperfect, yet brilliant people...and their characters.
what i wrote in that email, so long ago, still stands: these characters are real to me, and every time fear, lonliness, self doubt and bitterness are met and matched by love, faith, desire and belief that a "happily ever after" just might be possible, i nod and say "amen."
thank you, ladies, for your time, effort, and most of all, belief that a handful of drabbles and a tossed of thread in another's lj could evolve into a world of its own.
thank you.

Date: 2004-07-09 08:45 pm (UTC)Anyways, I love all the characterizations of all the "cast". I love how wonderfully marvelously evil Elijah is, and how Cate's character is so brilliantly complex and she is so clever (even though I know that she is in for a surprise, yes?). I am in complete love with Philosophy professor!Billy and how Dom's personality and sense of self has developed so much, especially in the newer threads. How they have changed each other and found comfort and are almost at peace with life when they are together.
I'm getting too carried away, so I just wanted to thank you for all your hard work and care you put into each of your characters. By the way, I have to say this: someone above mentioned something about the "Break-up" thread. I am so dreading it and yet I'm curious to see how, no doubtingly wonderfully heartbreaking, you'll pull it off. And one more thing- will we ever learn any more about Billy's past? There have bees subtle hints of it here and there.
Keep up the good work...and thanks again :)

Date: 2004-07-11 01:41 pm (UTC)Thank you for creating this world and allowing us to share in their stories. The love between Dom & Billy is just beautifully portrayed and I find myself feeling jealous over what they have. It's quite something to feel jealous of a fictional couple. You should all be proud.

i just wanted to say that.

Date: 2004-11-21 03:21 am (UTC)omgomgomgomgomg!!! I'm now halfway the third thread she linked there and adjlja ljfajkjflk fklajljdd!!!
And I was so pleased to find the drabbles at the start of that thread, because I'd been wondering if something ever came of those. Ah, and Torrential!! I practically felt my fillings zinging from the electricity in the air [/bad metaphor].
*happy sigh*
I'm now going to read the second half of the third thread and then start on the fourth one. Just wanted you to know I'm enjoying this so thoroughly :D
